Altea
Climate
Summers are pleasant in Altea and the winters are mild, with the temperature seldom dropping below 5°C/41°F this makes it a great golfing destination throughout the year. The hotter months are when people are seen enjoying the beaches, whilst sunbathing or engaging in water sports and beach activities. A Valencian city located on the Mediterranean coast, Altea has 23,000 residents, of which 35% are foreigners, mostly from Central European countries and Scandinavia, which gives a multicultural feel to the town.

The 8 kilometres long, spectacular and varied coastline of Altea is home to hidden coves and sandy beaches among the rugged Sierra de Bernia's cliffs. They include the Platja del Cap Negret, Playa la Roda, Playa Albir, Platja de l’Espigó, and Nueva Playa de Altea.

Altea is home to the Altea Club de Golf, while numerous other courses are located nearby such as Villaitana Golf, Javea Gold, La Sella and the many courses around Alicante city and Playa San Juan.

Accessing a private medical centre in the middle of an emergency is not a problem for residents of Altea as the multidisciplinary Hospital IMED Levante is just 10 minutes away by car. There are many medical facilities in nearby Benidorm, Albir and Calpe.

Centre Comercial Arabí Plaza, Plaza del Sol, and Mercadillo de Altea are the shopping malls in town that are good options for finding branded and designer products.

There are some unique Michelin Star restaurants within 15 kilometres of Altea like El Xato, Casa del Maco, Komfort, Beat, and Audrey's. Enjoy traditional ragout dishes or savour the exotic seafood prepared with the local catch.
