Finestrat

Climate

Located in the hills overlooking Benidorm, Finestrat has a typical Mediterranean climate, with pleasant summers with cool sea breezes. During the winters, the mountains surrounding the region protect the town from the cold north winds. The area has an average of 3,000 hours of sunshine annually.

Demographics

Finestrat has a population of 6,500, with 43% of its inhabitants being expatriates, which makes the town a culturally diverse place.

Economy

Traditionally, the economy of Finestrat depended on agriculture as is evident from the surrounding landscape of orange trees, olive, and almond farms. Today, tourism is a thriving sector and the industrial zone between Finestrat and Benidorm attracts investment companies from all over the province. Finestrat also has a Viveros de Empresas de la Camara de Comercio organization, which contributes to new job creation and business starting opportunities.

Beaches

The town has only one beach within its municipality, the small and cosy Finestrat Beach also called Playa de La Cala, which is surrounded by cliffs on both sides of the bay, adding to its scenic value and attractiveness. Of course, there are a multitude of beaches and coves in the neighbouring Benidorm and Villajoyosa.

Educational Institutes

The Centro Privado De Educación Infantil De Primer Ciclo Terramarina is Finestrat's own private educational institution for school-going students. While Benidorm and Alicante have many more offerings.

Golf

The Puig Campana Golf, Villaitana Golf are all accessible within a short drive of 10 minutes from Finestrat, and the Club De Golf Bonalba and Alicante Golf are within 30 minutes.

Medical Facilities

The private Hospital IMED Levante, a multidisciplinary medical centre, and among the biggest in the region, is 15 minutes by car from Finestrat.

Shopping

Finestrat is 6 kilometres away from the expansive Centro Comercial La Marina shopping mall, which has more than 100 stores under one roof. It is the place to pick up high-street fashion brands and browse through designer boutique stores.

Restaurants

Relish delicacies of traditional Valencian fare and exotic dishes at the Michelin Star Restaurants located within 20 minutes' driving distance from Finestrat. They include El Xato, Emperador, Oustau de Altea, and La Capella.
