Climate

Pedreguer enjoys beach-perfect warm summers from late May to early October. During winters, the temperature very rarely goes below 4°C/40°F, which makes it ideal to enjoy winter sports including golfing or the abundance of nearby hiking routes. The annual average low and high temperature typically varies from 7°C/46°F to 28°C/82°F.

Demographics

Pedreguer is a small to medium municipality with around 8000 residents. There is a small ex-pat population that consists of mostly British and Northern Europeans. The favoured residential suburb for ex-pats is Monte Pedreguer.

Economy

The economy in Pedreguer centres on agriculture and industry and the village is surrounded by orange groves, vineyards, and abundant agricultural farming land on which vegetables and fruits are grown.

Local Businesses

The village specializes in logistics, manufacturing, farming and leather goods manufacture, including bags and hats, which also helps drive the local businesses.

Schools and Colleges

La Nucia, which is 3.5 kilometres away, has a private English language school called Elian's British School. There are also a number of International schools in nearby Javea including Xabia International College, Lady Laude Elizabeth and Centro Privado de Enseñanza María Inmaculada. The private universities TFG y MASTERS and Nazareth College, Alicante can be reached within 45 minutes by car.

Leisure Amenities

The town is just 9 minutes away by car from the La Sella Urbanization, which has a community sports centre with various activities such as a swimming pool, tennis, basketball, and football amenities. There are also various equestrian centres in La Sella Urbanization that provide horse riding lessons and activities. The La Sella Golf Course,  8 kilometres from Pedreguer, was designed in 1991 by the Spanish professional golfer José María Olazába, the double champion of the Masters in Augusta.

Medical Facilities

Located near Denia, Pedreguer enjoys a good location in terms of accessibility and distance to private hospitals and medical centres. The Policlínica Glorieta Denia and Hospital HLA San Carlos are both reachable within 10 minutes by car.

Shopping

The village hosts a weekly market on Sundays. However, for more luxury shopping, better options for high-street and designer brands are found at Portal de la Marina near Denia.

When it comes to dining out and digging into the best of local and exotic cuisine, Pedreguer has many options. There are 17 Michelin Star Restaurants, all located within a 16-kilometre radius.
